Respected teachers and dear students! The PDFs of Insight Model Papers for Chemistry-11, Chapter-4 are presented here. The chapter named “Liquids and Solids” deals with two main states of matter, that is, the liquid which is the least common state of matter, and the solid which is the most abundant state if matter around us on the Earth. In liquid section, intermolecular forces like dipole-dipole forces, London dispersion forces, hydrogen bonding, evaporation, vapour pressure and boiling point of liquids are elaborated. Then a brief article about a unique form of matter called liquid crystals is given. After that solid related articles like crystalline solids, amorphous solids, anisotropy, symmetry, habit of crystals, isomorphism, polymorphism, allotropy, transition temperature, seven crystal systems, types of solids such as ionic solids, covalent solids, molecular solids, metallic solids and theories of metallic bonding are discussed in detail.
Examination value of this chapter counts for 16 marks. Two multiple choice questions (MCQ) of 2 marks, four short questions of 8 marks and one long question of 4 marks are taken from this chapter in the board paper. So, this is one of the most valuable chapters of the textbook from examination point of view.
As far as the pairing scheme of this chapter is concerned, as already mentioned, this chapter is usually paired with chapter 1 of the textbook. The short questions of this chapter are grouped with the short questions of chapters 5, 8, 11 in question 3 of section I of the Subjective portion of the paper. So short questions of chapter 5 must also be prepared along with chapter 4 by the student for attempting at least 8 short questions from question 3.
Three types of tests are also available in chapter 4 model papers:
- Half chapter tests
- Complete chapter tests
- Complete chapter tests (smart syllabus)
Each type has further categorization with respect to marks division and the length of the paper. They will be discussed in detail in their respective sections.
A. Half Chapter Tests
Here below are PDFs of half chapter tests for chapter 4 chemistry-11. These tests are prepared according to the regular syllabus. The first half syllabus includes assignments from 4.1 to 4.2. The articles are intermolecular forces, hydrogen bonding, evaporation and boiling point. The second half syllabus includes assignments from 4.3 to 4.8, from liquid crystals to the calculation of Avogadro’s number. The related examples, numerical questions and MCQs from the textbook exercise are also the part of these tests.
The half chapter tests also contain two types of marks categories; first of 25 marks and the second of 30 marks. These are structured for initial and advanced levels of testing plans respectively, and also to increase the selection pool for the teacher.

B. Full Chapter Tests
Here are the PDFs of ‘complete chapter tests’ for chapter 4, chemistry-11. These tests are framed according to the regular syllabus. Two types of tests, regarding the marks division of the question paper, are made available here; one of 30 marks which are for initial level students, and second of 40 marks which are for next level candidates. This variety of papers also broadens the selection options of the teacher who can now select any paper according to his testing strategy. Textbook articles & examples, textbook exercise MCQs & other questions are all included in these complete chapter model papers.

C. Smart Syllabus Tests
These are Chemistry-11, chapter 4 model papers that are set according to the smart syllabus. Smart syllabus is somewhat brief as compared to the regular syllabus as some topics from the smart syllabus have been omitted due to Covid-19 pandemic and the contraction of the study duration. The smart syllabus has all other topics except assignments no. 4.2, 4.7 & 4.8 which are excluded according to accelerated learning programme.
The tests are of two types according to the marks division, i.e., of 25 & 30 marks, both for different levels of students and different testing plan. This also provides a varied range of choices for the teacher, who can now select the test of his own choice according to his requirement.
