Chemistry 11 Model Papers – Chapter 3 – Punjab Textbook Board

Respected teachers and dear students! The PDFs of Insight Model Papers for Chemistry-11, chapter 3 are presented here. The chapter named “Gases” deals with the most simple state of matter, that is, the gas. Comparison between different states of matter, gas laws like Boyle’s law, Charles’s law, absolute zero, scales of thermometry, Avogadro’s law, Dalton’s law of partial pressures, Graham’s law of diffusion and effusion, kinetic molecular theory of gases, kinetic equation, liquefaction of gases, Linde’s method of liquefaction of gases, Joule-Thomson effect, ideal behaviour of gases, deviation of real gases from ideal behaviour and van der Waals’ real gas equation are discussed in this chapter. In the end, fourth state of matter i.e., plasma, is also elaborated.

Examination value of this chapter counts for 12 marks. Two multiple choice questions (MCQ) of 2 marks, three short questions of 6 marks and one long question of 4 marks are taken from this chapter in the board paper. So, this chapter is very important from examination point of view.

As far as the pairing scheme of this chapter is concerned, three short questions from this chapter are included into Q. 2 of Section I of the Subjective portion of the board paper. Question 2 contains 12 short questions in total from chapters 1, 2, 3 & 9. So, short questions of chapter 3 are paired with chapters 1, 2 & 9 of the textbook. Any three of these four chapters must be prepared by the student for attempting at least 8 short questions from question 2.

As previous, three types of tests are also available here:

  • Half chapter tests
  • Complete chapter tests
  • Complete chapter tests (smart syllabus)

Each type has further categorization with respect to marks division and the length of the paper. Their detail will be discussed in their respective sections.

A. Half Chapter Tests

Here below are PDFs for half chapter tests for chapter 3 chemistry-11. These are prepared according to the regular syllabus. The first half syllabus includes assignments from 3.1 to 3.5. The articles included are the states of matter and the gas laws, from Boyle’s law upto Graham’s law of diffusion and effusion. The second half syllabus includes assignments from 3.6 to 3.11, from kinetic molecular theory to plasma state. The related numerical examples, numerical questions and MCQs from the textbook exercise are also included.

The half chapter tests also contain two marks category; first of 25 marks and the second of 30 marks. These are structured for initial and advanced levels testing respectively, and also to increase the selection pool for the teacher.

B. Full Chapter Tests

Here, the PDFs of complete chapter tests for chapter 3, chemistry-11 are given. These papers are prepared according to the regular syllabus. Two types of tests are available according to division of marks; one of 25 marks that are for initial level students, and second of 30 marks that are for next level candidates. This also broadens the choice options of the teacher who can now select any paper according to his requirement.

C. Smart Syllabus Tests

These are the model tests for chapter 3, Chemistry-11, which are set according to the smart syllabus. Smart syllabus is somewhat brief as compared to the regular syllabus as some topics from the textbook have been omitted from the regular syllabus due to Covid-19 pandemic and contraction of the academic session. The assignments no. 3.1, 3.6, 3.9, & 3.10 are excluded while the remaining all are included in the smart syllabus.

There are also two types of tests according to marks division, i.e., 25 & 30 marks. This presents varied range of choices for the teacher, who can now select the test according to his requirement as well as the level of the student.
