Chemistry 11 Chapter 10, Chemistry 11 Model Papers, Chemistry Chapter 10 Complete, Chemistry Chapter 10 First Half, Chemistry Chapter 10 Second Half, Chemistry Short Syllabus Test, First Half Chapter 10, Full Chapter, Half Chapter, Punjab Textbook Board, Second Half Chapter 10

TEACHERS AND STUDENTS! “Insight Model Papers for Chapter#10, Chemistry-11” are present before you. As the chapter name “Electrochemistry” shows, the chapter deals with oxidation reduction reactions and various types of electrochemical cells. The topics discussed in detail in this chapter are oxidation state and balancing of redox reactions, electrolytic conduction, electrochemical cells, Voltaic or Galvanic cell, standard hydrogen electrode or SHE, electrochemical series, modern batteries and fuel cells like lead accumulater, alkaline battery, silver oxide battery, nickel-cadmium battery or NICAD & fuel cells etc. These topics as well as textbook exercise MCQs & questions are all included in these model papers.

Examination worth of chapter-10 is of 11 marks. One MCQ, three short questions and one long question for 1, 6 & 4 marks respectively, have been selected from this chapter in board papers. This share is too big to be neglected.

This chapter is paired with chapter 9 in Q. No. 9 of the subjective portion. One long question is selected from this chapter alongwith that of chapter 9. The number of short questions selected from this chapter is three, which are grouped together with those of chapter 6 & 7 in Q. No. 4 of the subjective portion. One MCQ is usually taken from the textbook exercise, but sometimes it is also picked from the chapter articles, and is mostly about the oxidation number of the elements in a compound. These are some important points for a student to be remembered while preparing this chapter for the board exams.

The tests in this chapter are of three types:

  • Half chapter tests
  • Complete chapter tests (regular syllabus)
  • Complete chapter tests (smart syllabus)

Each type has further sub-divisions regarding the marks and the length of the papers. Their detail discusson will at their proper place.

A. Half Chapter Tests

These are the half chapter tests for chapter 10, chemistry-11. These are arranged according to the regular syllabus. The syllabus of th first half chapter tests includes 10.1 to 10.2 (From oxidation state to Galvanic or Voltaic cells), while second half syllabus includes articles 10.3 to 10.5 (From electrode potential to modern batteries and fuel cells). Related theory articles as well as textbook exercise questions and MCQs are present in their respective half chapter tests.

Half chapter tests are also of 25 and 30 marks. 30 marks tests contain one additional long question and one more MCQ. Both these varieties are framed for different levels of testing according to the scheme of the teacher or the institute.

B. Full Chapter Tests

These are the complete chapter tests for chapter 10, chemistry 11. The tests are in PDF format, easily downloadable without any cost or charges. The tests are given in two marks categoris; first of 30 marks and second of 40 marks. The 30 marks tests are for initial level of testing and are used in the ionitial stage of studies. These contain 6 MCQs, 8 short qustions and 2 long questions. The time duration of these tests is 60 minutes or 1 hour. The second category of 40 marks tests are somewhat lengthy as compared to the first category. So, they are used for some advanced level students where writing speed is meant to be enhanced also. The tests contain 8 MCQs, 10 short questions and 3 long questions, taken from the theory as well as from the textbook exercise. Their time duration is 75 minutes, which tests the stamina of the student also.

C. Smart Syllabus Tests

Here are complete chapter tests for chapter 10, chemistry-11, arranged according to the smart syllabus. The ‘Smart Syllabus’ has about 40% short syllabus as compared to the normal syllabus because some articles are omitted in this format. For example, in chapter 10, the articles 10.1.3 & 10.1.4 which are about ‘the balancing of redox equations’, and the whole of 10.5 assignment which is about ‘modern batteries and fuel cells’ have been excluded from the smart syllabus.

Smart syllabus tests are actually complete chapter tests which are given in two marks categories. The first category is of 25 marks, which contains 9 MCQs, 6 short questions and 1 long question. The time allowed for this category is 40 minutes. The second category which is of 30 marks contains 10 MCQs, 6 short questions and 2 long questions. The time allowed for this category is 50 minutes.
